Almost any food can be prepared as a street food, so put your creativity to use and test your favourite recipes in street food style. You should also try our burger seasoned with tasty bacon jam!

You can prepare the different elements of the burger the day before serving. When it is time to serve this delicacy, fry the patty, heat the buns and put the burgers together. Spoon the lime sauce on the bun, then add the patty and a generous slice of blue cheese. Dress with bacon jam. We recommend serving crunchy sweet potato chips with the burgers.

Ingredients

Burger Patties

150–200g minced meat per burger

salt

ground black pepper

Lime Sauce

150g crème fraîche

Juice of 1–2 limes

a pinch of salt and sugar

Bacon Jam

200g bacon

butter

2 onions

2 cloves of garlic

200ml beer

100ml syrup

salt

ground black pepper

Instructions

Burger Patties

Shape the minced meat into patties. Do not press the meat too much, but rather use only enough force so that the patties barely hold together. This way your patties will stay juicy. Season the patties on both sides with salt and pepper. Fry the patties in a pan or grill until they are cooked medium.

Lime Sauce

Mix the lime juice with the crème fraîche and let season in the refrigerator for a few hours, or overnight. Season with a pinch of salt and sugar.

Bacon Jam

Slice the bacon and put in a cold frying pan. Turn the stove on and fry the bacon until crispy. Place the bacon on a sheet of kitchen roll to settle. Add a generous knob of butter to the bacon grease left on the pan. Finely chop the onions and garlic and fry them in the grease until cooked. Add the beer and syrup and allow to reduce until thickened. Add the bacon and season. Check the taste.

Serve the bacon jam slightly heated.
