Black Pepper and Cranberry Mulled Wine

How about a cup of hot, steaming and spicy mulled wine? The best mulled wine is homemade, and to give it that something extra, use spices that are perhaps a bit unusual, or try replacing the wine with berry juice. Try for instance our black pepper and cranberry mulled juice!


300 ml unsweetened cranberry juice from concentrate

300 ml high-quality apple juice

300 ml water

1 cinnamon stick

2 Star anise

1 vanilla pod (halved)

2 tbsp whole black peppers

maple syrup to taste



Measure the ingredients into a pot. Heat and let simmer for approx 5 minutes. Sweeten to taste with maple syrup.

Allow the mixture to cool and let it season for at least an hour or two, but preferably overnight. Strain and heat before serving. Serve as is, or fortified with good vodka.
