Meat Stew Oktoberfest Style

This stew brings the festive atmosphere of Germany straight to your home, but it melts in your mouth just as well all year round.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork neck
  • 1 kg beef entrecôte
  • 1-2 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 1 parsnip
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 1 L beef broth
  • 1 sprig of rosemary
  • 0.5 L German beer
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • Butter and oil for browning
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the meat into large cubes. Peel and dice the vegetables, and finely chop the garlic.
  2. Heat a pot or pan on the stove, add oil and butter. Brown the meat and vegetables for a moment, seasoning with salt and black pepper.
  3. Add the beer and beef broth until the ingredients are covered, then add the rosemary. Simmer in the oven with the lid on for 3-4 hours at about 175°C.
  4. Add chopped parsley to the finished stew.
  5. Serve this delicious stew with boiled potatoes and sauerkraut!
