Orange cake


Sponge mixture

150 g butter

1.5 dl sugar

2 eggs

3.5 dl special white flour

1.5 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla sugar

200 g orange curd cheese

Peel of 1 orange, grated

100 g pieces of orange peel



2.25 dl icing sugar

2 tbsp orange juice

Pieces of orange peel



Heat your oven to 175°C.

Whisk together the soft butter at room temperature and the sugar into a pale foam. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well.

Mix together the dry ingredients and add to the sponge mixture together with the curd cheese. Finally, add the orange peel and pieces and mix until even.

Line the bottom a heart-shaped cake tin with greaseproof paper, and pour the mixture into the tin. Bake the cake in the oven for approximately 50 minutes.

Allow to cool.

Mix together the icing sugar and orange juice, and spread the icing on top of the cooled cake. Decorate with pieces of orange peel.
